OVERVIEW:  Our version of a Côtes du Rhône blend, this versatile wine combines generous red, spicy fruit aromas with extractive ripe berry flavors, and is a perfect choice for barbecues, stews and spicy-styled dishes.
BLEND & GRAPE SOURCES:
A blend consisting of 33% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre, 19% Syrah, 6% Merlot, 5% Carignane, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Alicante Bouschet.

APPELLATION: California.
WINEMAKING DATA:
Grapes were harvested between August 29 and october 5 at an average 24.5° Brix, fermented in stainless steel tanks, then aged 9 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels before being blended and bottled in August, 2002.
WINEMAKING QUOTES:
This is a superlative vintage in the North Coast. A cool (but not excessively so) growing season was followed by fabulous weather in September and October, allowing producers to harvest at their leisure. Crop size was reasonably good ... All things considered, this is a great vintage for all varietals ...
