While
much was written about the mid-harvest rains of 1989 and their effect on California's
North Coast grape crop, our Cabernet fruit ripened to maturity prior to the
storms, and through selective picking of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, we ended
up with excellent quality fruit and a full-bodied Insignia blend with supple,
generous flavors that are still developing in the bottle.
