	Ovation is our flagship Chardonnay - a blend of grapes displaying the highest aroma and flavor profiles from cool-climate vineyards that have been established using small-cluster clones of Chardonnay. Crop yields are low and flavors tend to be extraordinarily rich and concentrated. In order to bring out the unique qualities of Ovation Chardonnay, special consideration is given to it at every step in the winemaking process. This was especially true in 1998, when a cool, wet growing season required meticulous crop thinning in the vineyard and careful lot selection in the cellar. Many, many barrels of this wine were tasted, blended, re-tasted and blended again before the final wine was crafted, and we are extremely pleased with the results, which Robert M. Parker, Jr. rates (89-90), and describes at right.
